Young Adult Fiction
My debut series, The Shiftwork Chronicles, is written for young adults, meaning teens as young as 14 can enjoy it and the content will be appropriate for them.
Low Fantasy
I have always loved magical worlds (Harry Potter, Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Divine Rivals), so I knew I wanted to write stories infused with magic. However, I did not want a conventional fantasy or a complicated magic system. So, I write “low” fantasy, which is easy-to-understand magic in a familiar world.
Varying Genres
I primarily write upper YA fantasy, but you will find dystopian, historical, and new adult themes and tropes in my writing.
Clean Reads
In my books, you will not find:
- Spice/smut/open-door romance
- Graphic violence
- Excessive, extreme language
- Offensive content
No Heavy-Handed Themes or Political Commentary
I am not the author to address current social issues. When I read, I want to escape the weight of reality and be immersed into something I would otherwise never experience. That’s what I want for my readers, so that’s what I write.
Am I the Author for You?
If you’re interested in:
- Low fantasy or magical realism
- Themes of identity, belonging, right & wrong
- Kissing-only romance
- Stories to grow with
- Easy-to-read books (no big words, jumping timelines, etc…)
Then you should stick around for a while!
