REDEEMING LOVE by Francine Rivers

In honor of the film release last week, we wanted to share a review of a beloved novel, Francine Rivers’ Redeeming Love. This gut-wrenching novel is a retelling of the Old Testament book of Hosea, in which the Lord tells the prophet Hosea to take a prostitute for his wife. This acts as a picture of God’s love for His people, wayward as they are.

I STILL BELIEVE by Jeremy Camp

If you didn’t see the movie, it’s likely you at least saw the trailers for the 2020 faith-based love story I STILL BELIEVE starring Britt Robertson and KJ Apa. Based on the true story of Christian singer/songwriter Jeremy Camp’s marriage to his first wife Melissa and her fight with cancer, it’s a deeply heartwarming film and an absolute tear-jerker.

ANGEL EYES by Shannon Dittemore

I’ll start this review off by saying I tried to find this series to read years ago when I was in high school. From what I could tell at the time, it was going to be right up my fifteen year old self’s alley: a protagonist who’s a ballerina, a mysterious (and, yes, very good-looking) new boy in town, and some supernatural craziness going on. And I was so disappointed because I could not find them to read anywhere. So, I never read them… until this past summer. I stumbled across the entire series available on my Libby app. I decided it was as good a time as any to see if these books lived up to my high school expectations.

MASTERPIECE by Francine Rivers

We meet infamous artist Roman Velasco who desperately needs a new assistant but just cannot keep them (They say he’s moody). Enter Grace, a single mom who happens to desperately need a job. Can you guess where this is headed? Grace begins to work for Roman, and the two build a rocky working relationship. Both Roman and Grace harbor secrets and great pain from their pasts. One seeks to move forward but feels held back; one clings bitterly to the past, unable to let go. Before long, they find themselves helping each other in a way neither expected.
